FOODS TO EAT AND AVOID WITH RESTLESS LEGS

Posted on October 9, 2020October 12, 2020 by winderlks

Do you or or someone you love suffer from restless leg syndrome? This is a chronic problem for so many and you would think with all the advancements in medicine, they could come up with something that was effective for this problem. Just maybe the answer for you was within your grasp all along. Is relief from restless legs worth a couple of weeks of tweaking what you are eating? What have you got to lose except possibly restless legs? Worth a try? Hmmmmmm Food for thought…..

Foods rich in IRON:

red meat, liver, spinach and other dark leafy greens, dried fruit, poultry, pork, seafood, iron fortified cereals, beans

Foods rich in Magnesium:

almonds, cashews, peanuts, soy milk, black beans, edamame, peanut butter, whole wheat bread and brown rice

Vitamin C helps to absorb iron better…..Foods:

citrus, broccoli, melons, black eyed peas, rice, quinoa, asparagus, whole wheat pasta, brussel sprouts, avocado

AVOID:

chocolate, sodas, fried foods, processed foods and GLUTEN…. (Gluten will probably be your hardest effort but know there are lots of products available now that weren’t there even 5 years ago. AND… it’s only for a trial period! )
